spring 2013 trends / singin' the blues

GQ creative director Jim Moore included the color blue as an important spring 2013 trend seen on the men's runway, but I personally feel that blue is always "in." Moore didn't clarify exactly what kind of blue that is trending, but judging on the men's fashion shows, it seems to be leaning toward cobalt blue. Other than navy, I love cobalt blue; it is great for wearing with neutral colors as well as other bright or saturated colors to achieve the color-blocking effect.

Aside from the color trend, what about a style (or pattern) trend? I love gingham patterns and actually prefer it over plaids. I especially love this J.Crew one since it seems more contemporary than the typical combination of white and of a color like red, purple, or blue.
