volcom invades occ

I attended the Volcom Invades OCC event at Orange Coast College this past Monday where a reception was held at the patio of the Student Center with refreshments and snacks (like doughnuts from Sidecar Doughnuts!) and an informal modeling of Volcom's spring 2013 collection. The collection was very beachy, perfect for the Southern California weather. It incorporated   predominantly an almost coral orange throughout the show, a definite hint of the current trend color. While the models were showcased, free Volcom stickers and Watermans sunscreen packets were passed out. Who doesn't love free stuff? I particularly wanted sunscreen since you can't ever have too much of that! However, it was all gone by the time I was looking for it.

Following the reception, a company panel discussion was held in the Student Center where four directors from Volcom's design, marketing, and logistics departments came to speak about their educational background and work experience with Volcom. I can honestly tell you that they all truly love their job at Volcom, and it truly means that you can find a job you love that does not feel like work. After the panel discussion, there was a giveaway of Volcom apparel and accessories to practically the whole audience!

The event was hosted by Orange County-based stylist Leslie Christen and her Special Events class from Orange Coast College. A job well done to the first event Leslie and her class had hosted and managed at Orange Coast College as well as Leslie's first time working with Volcom.
